About me
Nicholas Wayne has a Master of Music degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Bethany Lutheran College. He studied voice with Thaxter Cunio at the MacPhail Center for the Arts, Ann Fredrickson, and Stephen Bomgardner. Nicholas is the Music Director for Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Department of Performing Arts, and Highland Summer Theatre. Over the past 20 years, he has music directed and conducted over 70 musicals, including notable projects such as The Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon, Les Misérables, Cats, Titanic, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Newsies, Rent, Cabaret, and Aida. Apart from directing, Nicholas teaches various courses for the Department of Performing Arts at MNSU, including musical theatre acting, musical theatre history, voice lessons, and music skills. He has also composed several choral pieces, including a world premiere for Christmas in Christ Chapel at Gustavus Adolphus College. Additionally, Nicholas has been a member of adjunct music faculties for Gustavus Adolphus College, Bethany Lutheran College, and Minnesota State University Mankato’s Department of Music.
