About me
As an actor, director, and teacher, Joan Korte is enthusiastic to share her passion for storytelling. She has most recently been involved with TheatreMidwest (IA) where she has appeared in THE GULL; A TRAGICOMEDY FOR ONE--AFTER CHEKHOV, WHEN THE MESSENGER IS HOT, and ATLAS OF MUD, and has served as Literary Manager and Board Member. Other recent credits are from Fair Assembly Theatre Company, Dallas, and Texas Shakespeare Festival.
Currently, Joan is the Director of Performance at Oklahoma State University. She teaches all levels of acting, including Acting Shakespeare. Her voice pedagogy is based on the foundational work of Kristen Linklater, and she loves to help students find the truth and power of their individual voices. Joan also teaches Accents and Dialects and has served as a dialect coach for many productions.
